The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaut Saint-Jacques has turned out especially well, something Duroche attributes to the small size of the grapes this year. Offering up notes of dark berries, peonies, spices and loamy soil, it's medium to full-bodied, velvety and concentrated, with lively acids, powdery tannins and a long, perfumed finish.
