Robert Parker

Drink:

Served blind at the Southwold 2009 tasting. The Chapelle d'Ausone '09 has a very powerful, very alcoholic bouquet that is heady and is lacking the finesse of its peers. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent tannins. Quite beefy and structured " there is a lot of extraction here and it needs more composure and sophistication on the finish. Trying too hard perhaps? I think this just needs five or six years to “calm down”. Tasted January 2013.
