A light nose of red cherries, raspberry, lawn cuttings and a touch of iron rust, all with very fine definition and lift. The palate is soft on the entry, full of rounded red-berried fruit with a touch of leather. Very harmonious, gaining weight all the time in the glass with gamey, animally notes becoming ever more intense with great poise and tension on the tannic finish. A feminine, wily Beaucastel with a long plateau ahead. Drink now-2025. Tasted September 2007.
