The dark ruby/purple-tinged 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape is softer and more evolved than I would have thought. It shows a rounded personality with abundant quantities of sweet currants and black cherries. This attractive, seductive, medium to full-bodied effort has freshness as well as a vivid display of aromatics (no doubt due to the cool August and September evenings).
