Drink:

Wow. A deep garnet, purple colour with very little maturation on the rim. Is this really a '61? A simply spellbinding nose of blackberry, saddle-leather, hedgrow and mushroom: very intense and with great delineation. The palate is full-bodied, beautifully balanaced, quite lithe and sinewy with layers of black fruits infused with leather and wild mushroom. Very natural, utterly harmonious and more like a ten year old wine. Sensuous, silky finish. Sublime. Drink now but will keep. Christ: what must the "La Chapelle" taste like??? Tasted October 2006.
